Stick Customs started off a few years back.

I was traveling through South Africa and was Totally inspired when i came across the most amazing hand crafted Hollow wooden surfboard.  when I returned to Australia I found a course in wooden surfboard building and have been making surfboards ever since.

Concerned over the amount of waste the surfboard industry produces I started working out ways to fix and keep old broken boards alive. Giving them a new life.

Some have been totally re designed others were favorite boards put back together with new timber decks, cork, surf set flex resin., Hemp, Flax and combinations of basalt  are just a few of the different cloths and materials i use to wrap up the boards. Paulownia timber is used on most of the decks to give it extra strength so no more pressure dents on your favorite board. Its all about using renewable timber like paulownia and up-cycling, keeping as much surfboard waste out of landfill and creating beautiful unique boards that surf amazing.
